During today’s earnings call, Disney CEO Bob Iger gave us a sneak peek at some concept art for the upcoming Disneyland Avatar land expansion. It looks like Disneyland is gearing up for something seriously epic with this franchise. From what Iger revealed, it’s set to take place on Pandora, but get this—it’s nothing like the one at Walt Disney World. I couldn’t be more excited for something this immersive at the Disneyland Resort!
From what we’ve seen so far, it seems like there’s going to be at least one boat ride at the Disneyland Avatar Land. It gives me some serious Pirates of the Caribbean Battle for the Sunken Treasure vibes from Shanghai Disneyland. Ever since experiencing that attraction in 2017, I’ve wanted something like this is the States! If it’s the same technology, we’ll see an incredibly immersive yet thrilling experience like nothing yet at Disneyland in California!
Avatar films have indisputably cemented their place in cinematic history, soaring to unprecedented heights of success since the release of the first installment in 2009. Director James Cameron’s visionary storytelling, coupled with groundbreaking visual effects, propelled the franchise into a league of its own. With a total box office gross exceeding $2.8 billion for the original film alone, Avatar shattered records and captivated audiences worldwide with its mesmerizing portrayal of the alien world of Pandora. The subsequent announcement of multiple sequels further fueled anticipation, promising to expand upon the rich tapestry of the Avatar universe. As fans eagerly await the release of Avatar 2 and beyond, the franchise stands as a testament to the power of imagination and innovation in storytelling, leaving an indelible mark on the landscape of modern cinema.
